Armstrong
Rockwell is very proud to represent Swiss independent, Thomas
Prescher. Thomas Prescher entered the German Navy at the age
of 19, finishing with a ‘Kapitän Pantent’ in 1991. After completely
his service in the Navy, Thomas Prescher decided the time had
come to turn his lifetime passion and interest in watch making into a
tangible reality. Thomas Prescher began his career in watch
making by entering the four-year IWC apprenticeship. After completing
the apprenticeship in only three years he worked for Audemars Piguet for
a year and a half. This was followed by his work with the firm of Gübelin
Luzen as a watchmaker where he specialized in the restoration of antique
pieces, complicated watches and custom built pieces. This experience
only deepened his already existing interest in complicated watches. By
the time his studio was founded, Thomas Prescher Haute Horlogerie, this
predisposition for complicated watches made him well known in the
collector community. In 2003 Thomas Prescher was accepted as a
candidate member of the AHCI, and presented his Double Axis Tourbillon
pocket watch and a bras en l’air wristwatch under the AHCI flag at
Baselworld. The tremendously positive reaction to these works convinced
him to develop the Tourbillon Trilogy. This set is a triple world
premiere: this is the first set to contain a Single, Double and Triple
Axis Tourbillon with an in house movement by an independent watchmaker;
this is also the first time that such wristwatch tourbillons have been
built with a constant force (remontoire) mechanism in the carriage; and
the world premier of the Triple Axis Tourbillon wristwatch.

An American -and water power- brought IWC to Schaffhausen over 135 years ago.
A few years after its foundation, the "American" watch factory passed into Swiss hands.
Its product philosophy- "Probus Scafusia": good, solid craftsmanship from Schaffhausen- came into
being some years later and is still the company motto today. It is suitably expressed in the factory
and case stamp, and stands for watchmaking at the highest level, to be handed down from one generation to the next. |

Armstrong Rockwell is proud to be an authorized dealer

kept very small so as to concentrate on detail, allowing the company to
create amazing innovations in watch complications.

brand, introduced in 1995, Roger Dubuis was launched by Roger
Dubuis and Carlos Dias themselves under the philosophy of "art and
respect of traditions". Roger Dubuis is prestigious in making
every watch, using distinct case shapes and dials and also limiting each
collection to twenty-eight pieces for the world. This exclusive quantity

now proudly representing a German watch brand, Glashütte Original.
Glashutte, a little known town in Saxony's Miegliz Valley, first began its
manufacture of the watch in 1845. The now used name of Glashütte
Original was created in 1994. Glashütte Original watches
compliment functionality and precision, utilizing the most modern
technologies. The style is not to be glamorous, but to express the
individuality of the wearer.

In the late 1970's gold watches were always fitted with a matching bracelet, it was this that allowed Carlo Crocco, founder of the firm MDM that produces
Hublot, his idea which would set the Hublot apart from other watches of it's time. At the time watches were designed by hand, without the help of computers, and when the case was designed a black strip was placed where the bracelet would normally be. It occurred to Crocco to leave the black strip, but he did not wish to use the usual leather strap. He thought that, perhaps, it could be a strip of rubber. Everyone from his family, and even the suppliers, thought Crocco was crazy, but today the rubber strap, now cleverly scented with vanilla, is still a defining trait of the
Hublot line today. |
