Pilot's Watches
|
|
|
|
|
Since the mid-1930s, Schaffhausen watch manufacturer
IWC has been making robust and reliable timepieces for pilots and their
passengers. With its new models, IWC gets off to a powerful start in
2012, the year of the Pilot’s Watches.

TOP GUN

If you plan to stay
ahead of the rest, your technology has to be state of the art. Heading up
the professional Pilot’s Watches from IWC Schaffhausen is the new 2012
TOP GUN collection.

The Big Pilot’s
Watch TOP GUN Miramar is equipped with the largest automatic
movement from IWC, with a power re- serve of 168hours. The division into
external chapter ring and inner hour circle on the dial is reminiscent of
the deck watches of the 1930s and 40s and, thus, the historical legacy of
Pilot’s Watches from IWC.

High-tech meets Haute Horlogerie: the Big

watch’s imposing ceramic case is a repository of some of watch- making’s
greatest-ever achievements.

IWC Schaffhausen has been manufacturing professional
timepieces for pilots and air travelers since 1936. The functionally
designed cockpit of the Ju 52 was the inspiration for the instrument
look of IWC Pilot’s Watches and has left its mark on the genre to this
day. IWC timepieces in an authentic cockpit-style design: Pilot’s
Watch Mark XVII (Ref. 3265), Pilot’s
Watch Double Chrono- graph (Ref.3778) and Pilot’s
Watch Worldtimer (Ref.3262).
|
|
In 2012, the Big
Pilot’s Watch (Ref.5009) from IWC Schaffhausen retains its
familiar looks and the ultra-efficient IWC-manufactured 51111 calibre.
|
The new Pilot’s
Watch Worldtimer (Ref.3262) from IWC Schaff- hausen has a 24-hour
ring that enables the wearer to read quickly and easily all 24 time
zones, including Universal Time Coordinated (UTC).
|
|
The Pilot’s
Watch Chronograph (Ref. 3777) from the 2012 col- lection comes
with all the qualities you would typically expect in a high-performance
Pilot’s Watch: precision, functionality and reli- ability.
|
With its new red design features, the
dial of the Pilot’s Watch
Double Chronograph (Ref.3778) from IWC Schaffhausen is even more
attractive and, thanks to a larger case – now 46millimetres –
significantly more legible.
|
|
In both form and function, the Pilot’s
Watch Mark XVII (Ref. 3265) is a virtually perfect example of a
classic pilot’s watch. Like cockpit instrumentation, the dial is black
with white indices and reduced to essentials: legibility is a top
priority.

Spitfire
|
|
|
|
With modernized design, new features
and IWC-manufactured movements, the new Spitfire watches from IWC
Schaffhausen are preparing for a stunning vertical take-off.
|
|
The Spitfire
Chronograph (Ref.3878) is equipped with the IWC- manufactured
89365 calibre. Apart from increasing the watch’s power reserve to 68
hours, it accommodates a stopwatch function with minutes and seconds as
well as a flyback function.
|
The Spitfire
Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month (Ref. 3791) combines
tasteful design with the art of watchmaking at its finest. It is the
first IWC Pilot’s Watch to show the date and month digitally, in the
form of four large numerals.
